Paula Merlán (Vigo, 1979) es licenciada en Derecho y Magisterio de Educación Primaria. Actualmente, compagina la escritura con la docencia, sus dos pasiones. Tiene publicados más de veinte libros para niños, muchos de ellos han sido traducidos a varios idiomas como el gallego, euskera, catalán, inglés, italiano, francés y coreano. Sus libros más importantes son La familia Uf (Cuento de luz, 2019) y Una sorpresa para Tortuga (Nubeocho, 2017), que el valió el premio International Latino Book Awards en 2018.
